Giancarlo Stanton Sitting Out Season Finale
4 years agoNew York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton is not in the lineup for the team's season finale against the Miami Marlins on Sunday. Luke Voit is getting the start at designated hitter in the game. Stanton managed to play just 23 games this year and slashed .250/.387/.500 with four home runs, 11 RBI and 12 runs. Stanton recently announced that he wouldn't opt out of his contract after this season, which means he will likely be back with the Yankees next year. While it might be unfortunate news for Yankees fans frustrated by Stanton's many recent injuries, it's certainly good news for Stanton's fantasy value, which receives a boost at the hitter-friendly Yankee Stadium.
