Charlie Morton Continues To Stretch Out Ahead Of Playoffs
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays right-handed pitcher Charlie Morton will start Friday versus Philadelphia, making his final start of the 2020 regular season. After missing nearly a month due to shoulder inflammation, Morton ramped his pitch count up to a season-high 94 pitches his last time out. While his strikeouts numbers haven’t been as prolific as they were in season’s past, Morton is yet to allow more than three runs in any of his last seven starts. Philadelphia’s offense carries considerable thump, but with both Bryce Harper (back) and JT Realmuto (hip) banged up in addition to Rhys Hoskins’ (elbow) absence, Morton has considerable fantasy upside Friday.
