Christian Yelich Slumping Through September
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich has had a rough season overall by his lofty standards. He showed some glimpses of turning things around throughout August, hitting seven home runs in the month, but September has been a different story. Yelich is slashing .232/.398/.391 with just three home runs and two doubles in September. In addition to the power drop we've seen from him this year, he's also been striking out much more than usual this year. Last year, he had a strikeout rate of 20.2%, but this year it's up to 32.3%. Surprisingly, his hard-hit rate this year (55.8%) is well above last year's clip (49.1%). He should be a first round pick yet again next year, but his disappointing 2020 campaign will likely cause him to drop from the top of the round to the middle.
