4 years agoHendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott came home in the seventh position in Saturday night's Bass Pro Shops/NRA Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Elliott started a spot better, in sixth, and assumed the lead for the first time on lap 107. Elliott would win the first stage and lead 23 laps, but would never find the front of the field again. Still, Elliott ran inside the top-five all night, until he was trapped a couple of laps down when an untimely caution came out with just under 100 laps to go. Elliott had just made his final pit stop when the caution happened, ruining his chance to win. Elliott will now head back to Las Vegas, where he led a ton of laps before having a tire failure in February.--John Pitucci - RotoBaller
