BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
ROSTERED: 11% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Los Angeles Chargers rookie running back Joshua Kelley had an extremely promising NFL debut this past week, carrying the ball 12 times for 60 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals. Kelley entered the game in a battle with Justin Jackson (quad) for the No. 2 running back spot on the team behind Austin Ekeler. However, Jackson left the game early with a quad injury after just two carries, paving the way for an extended opportunity for Kelley.
Jackson's availability for Week 2 is uncertain right now and so is what type of snap share he projects to get, compared with Kelley, going forward. Despite Kelley's sizable workload this past Sunday, he only saw 18 offensive snaps in the game, which is a bit of a concern. If Jackson is healthy next week, it's hard to imagine that number going too much higher for Kelley. Ekeler dominated the snaps in Week 1 with 50 and that should remain the case going forward.
Kelley should be added in all fantasy leagues due to the success he had in his NFL debut and the potential for him to become a viable fantasy starter at some point this year. However, don't expect him to be a reliable starting option as soon as Week 2. Add him and keep him on your bench for a few weeks to see how things play out.
