BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 42% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Only one week into the season, sure, but I am already celebrating Aaron Rodgers getting back to his 2011 vibes! Yay! This is not about Green Bay's quarterback, though. It is about who seems to have solidified himself as the Packers no. 2 wide receiver behind Davante Adams: Allen Lazard.
In the first game of the season for the Pack, Lazard couldn't have been much better. Rodgers targeted him four times, Lazard caught all four of those passes, advanced the ball 63 yards while doing so, and scored a touchdown to put the cherry on top of a great season-opening performance. Green Bay lacks talented receivers all around the field, that's the truth. Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Lazard will fight for that no. 2 role and while MVS had a nice game too (4/6/63/1) it looks like Lazard comes with a slightly higher upside given what both did in 2019.
Fantasy GMs are catching up with Lazard's upside, though, as his 42% ownership rate shows. Lazar was one of only five WRs to play Sunday and finish with 4+ targets while catching all of them. Not bad for a player slotted in an offense featuring--seemingly--one of the top-tier QBs of the league again.
