Austin Dillon Impresses With A Fourth-Place Finish At Richmond
4 years agoRichard Childress Racing's Austin Dillon finished in the fourth position in Saturday night's Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway. Dillon followed up his second-place finish at Darlington with another impressive race. For the first time, Dillon scored back-to-back top-five finishes, and his 55 laps led was the highest amount in his career. Dillon started third and stayed up front all night, finishing second in both stages. Dillon even overcame a pit road speeding penalty and was the best car on the track at certain points of the race. Unfortunately, Dillon lost a ton of time on his final pit stop when he missed the pit road entry. The mistake very well may have cost him a chance for his second win of the year. In good news, Dillon and the No. 3 team are in great shape to advance in the playoffs.
