Charvarius Ward Fractures Hand
4 years agoKansas City Chiefs starting cornerback Charvarius Ward (hand) suffered a fractured hand in Thursday night's win over the Texans and will be re-evaluated on Friday to determine how much time he will miss. Ward will have surgery on his broken hand, but based on the position he plays, it wouldn't be unprecedented if he puts a cast on it and plays through it. The team also has three extra days to get ready for their Week 2 game against the Chargers. The Chiefs secondary that looked really good on Thursday night in slowing down quarterback Deshaun Watson basically until garbage time late in the fourth quarter with the game already sealed up. The Chiefs Defense was in play as a starting fantasy unit for Week 1, and they lived up to that billing on Thursday night. They should be an acceptable starting unit next week, too, as they face the Chargers and quarterback Tyrod Taylor on the road.
