Mike Minor Struggles In First A's Start
4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Mike Minor allowed four runs in 3 1/3 innings pitched vs the Astros in his first start since being traded from Texas. Minor started the game strong, but the wheels came off in the fourth inning as he loaded the bases and then allowed three runs to score, one via hit-by-pitch and two walks. He sports a 6.35 ERA on the season and has an almost-as-bad 5.36 FIP supporting it. The left-hander has been plagued by the homer this season allowing 2.04 HR/9, that number could come down if his 18.4 percent HR/FB rate normalizes, but with not much season left it would be hard to rely on that happening. His next start hasn't been scheduled but there's a chance it's at Colorado next week where he'd be an east sit in fantasy.
