DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (9/7/20): NBA DFS Lineups

Just how many multi-game slates are left in the 2019-20 season remains to be seen. The duo of Boston-Toronto and LA Clippers-Denver has proven to be immensely competitive, with both series tied entering play Monday.

All four teams have showcased their best for one another, so finding an untapped edge is going to be difficult. With that in mind, fantasy managers are best served rolling with their favorite stars and viewing our selections as supplemental options among this mini-slate.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Jaylen Brown - SG/SF, BOS vs. TOR ($7,500)

The difference between Brown exceeding and failing to meet value is likely to come from his production in the steal and block columns. Having taken no fewer than 13 shots and no more than 18, Brown’s averages appear right in line during the postseason; the ball simply needs to go in at better than the 37.5 percent overall (and 26.7 three-point) clip that he has shot. Foul trouble has proven to be particularly finicky for the two-way star against the Raptors, although if he can continue to see in excess of 35-plus minutes, he’ll see considerable appeal in both GPP and cash contests.

Lou Williams - PG/SG, LAC vs. DEN ($5,800)

Likely to garner vastly more interest in GPP formats, Williams’ 16-shot outing in Game 2 against Denver jumps off the page as a mid-priced upside selection. He has gone 0-for-8 from three versus the Nuggets, but his 25 overall shot attempts through two games is an indicator of the offensive role that Williams should play in Game 3. He had performances as low as 10 DK points and high as 50.3 DK points in the first round, so there’s considerable risk associated with rostering the club’s bench ace.

Monte Morris - PG, DEN vs. LAC ($3,900)

Upside hasn’t been the name of Morris’ game in the playoffs this season and that’s been more than beneficial for those who have utilized him as a punt play-like asset. Over his last six appearances, Morris has averaged 17.4 DK points per contest; with just two games on the slate, his low price tag will allow owners to pay up elsewhere while having something mirroring a safe floor.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Jayson Tatum  - SF/PF, BOS vs. TOR ($9,300)

Tatum’s price tag has soared up the board as the postseason has progressed, and with good reason. After spending the regular season as another cog in the Celtics’ arsenal, Tatum has taken the next step toward superstardom over his first eight playoff contests this year, in which he has played at least 37 minutes in each of his five most recent games. Having taken exactly 18 shots in four of those five outings, Tatum’s consistency has been staggering to this point, adding 10.2 rebounds on a nightly basis in that stretch.

Pascal Siakam - PF, TOR vs. BOS ($8,100)

Siakam’s ascension into a top-tier DFS asset hasn’t been linear, but he’s picked it up considerably over his last six outings. In that span, he has amassed at least 42 DK points (reaching value) four times, while firing up a career-high 13-three-point attempts in Game 4. Toronto has made it clear that they plan on playing through their blossoming star, which gives something mirroring a safe floor after playing at least 43 minutes twice already in the series.

Jerami Grant - SF/PF, DEN vs. LAC ($5,200)

After having reclaimed his starting gig during the first round, Grant’s DFS value has been on the rise ever since. He hasn’t shot the ball particularly well over his last three outings (27.3% overall), but his 35.4 minutes per game during playoff starts is cause for optimism heading into Game 3. With the Clippers running out multiple long power forwards, Grant’s role is expedited, especially in the wake of all but having supplanted Michael Porter Jr. in the frontcourt. His slate-breaking ability is largely dependent upon his three-point shooting, which he excelled at against the Clippers during the regular season (6-for-14).

DraftKings DFS Centers

Serge Ibaka - C, TOR vs. BOS ($5,900)

For those interested in pivoting away from Nikola Jokic, Ibaka represents the highest upside selection on the board due to Boston’s inability to find a consistent defender for him. The only thing keeping Ibaka from becoming the fantasy star that he was during the regular season when many of the team’s stars were out is his minutes allotment; he has played exactly 22 minutes in each of the past two games. Despite a two-point clunker in Game 4, Ibaka has averaged 13 points per contest in the series, while accumulating five blocks.
