Sergio Alcantara Making MLB Debut On Sunday
4 years agoDetroit Tigers infielder Sergio Alcantara was called up on Friday for the team's double-header against the Minnesota Twins, but he didn't make an appearance in either game that day. Instead, he is slated to make his MLB debut in Sunday's game against the Twins. Alcantara is hitting ninth and starting at third base in the game. Alcantara is primarily known for his defensive acumen. However, he did show some solid plate discipline in the minors. Last year, over 102 games at Double-A, he struck out just 71 times compared with 48 walks. He offers very little upside in terms of power. He hit just two home runs over that same 102-game stretch last year. He can remain on waivers in all fantasy leagues at this point.
