4 years agoJoe Gibbs Racing's Erik Jones will start from the 30th position in Sunday's Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. In his final year at JGR, Jones failed to make the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs and will now audition for the final two months of the season. Darlington is Jones' best track statistically. In five starts, Jones has an average finish of 5.4 and has never finished worst than eighth. Jones also won the 2019 Southern 500, his last Cup victory to date. Jones is a no-doubter in DFS this week. His price is nowhere near as high as it should be based on his track record. Jones also has the highest position differential upside of anyone in the field. Without a ride yet for 2021, Jones will look to prove he's worthy of a premier Cup Series ride. There will be no playoff pressure, so expect Jones to be determined to park the No. 20 in victory lane.--John Pitucci - RotoBaller
