Alex Bowman Starts Fourth At Darlington
4 years agoHendrick Motorsports driver Alex Bowman will start from the fourth position in Sunday's Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. After starting the season strong, Bowman and the No. 88 team have limped into the post-season. Bowman won at California, in March, but only finished with three top-fives and eight top-10s in the regular season. In race one of the May doubleheader at Darlington, Bowman finished second and led 41 laps. While he didn't run as strong in race two, Bowman was running inside the top-10 when he had a tire go down, leaving him with an 18th-place finish. While it would be nice to think Bowman will pick up where he left off, being a contender, it is tough to ignore the struggles since the early portion of the season. Bowman's salary is below average in DFS, but just like teammate, William Byron, there is a low upside to playing him in lineups.
