Lynn Bowden Jr.'s Development Is Complicated
4 years agoLas Vegas Raiders rookie running back Lynn Bowden Jr. was drafted to play a special role in head coach Jon Gruden's offense, but he hasn't exactly been standing out in training camp, according to reports. General manager Mike Mayock said the team is going to be patient with the third-round selection from Kentucky. “We’re asking him to play a completely different position. We’re putting a lot on his plate,” Mayock said. Bowden has a bigger learning curve than most rookies because he's playing running back, receiver and working on special teams. There's a lot to like about the rookie in Gruden's offense, but we might not see his true potential until later this season or in 2021. The upside and potential positional versatility will make him worth a late-round stab in deeper leagues, especially if you also own Josh Jacobs.
