BALLER MOVE: Target Around ~170 Overall
CURRENT ADP: 180+ (Undrafted)
ANALYSIS: After having his best season as a pro in his second year in the NFL in 2018, Jacksonville Jaguars' wide receiver Dede Westbrook dropped his numbers a bit playing mostly under rookie-QB Gardner Minshew in 2019, going from 179.5 PPR points two years ago to 156.7 last season.
I guess this is pretty much what Dede Westbrook is going to be among pros and in fantasy football leagues: a FLEX play with upside to finish as a low-end WR2 in the best of scenarios. That is far from the breakout fantasy owners have been waiting for since his rookie season, but that doesn't mean it is bad entirely.
This will be Westbrook's fourth season in the Jaguars offense, and while he's shown some flashes of his talent, he's yet to do much more than work as a complementary piece of the passing attack. This season, Westbrook will open up the year with D.J. Chark and Chris Conley ahead of him on the depth chart, and rookie second-rounder Laviska Shenault will play a role as well. But nothing seems to be set in stone in Jacksonville, and if we're honest it is hard to predict how roles will actually be handed and who will be who in that attack a few weeks from now.
Westbrook has the talent and again, he's more than capable of turning into a weekly FLEX play. He projects to see the second-most targets (74, 17.1% target share) in Jacksonville this upcoming season (per PFF) while he's expected to reach 500 yards on 50 receptions including scoring three touchdowns. He's getting undrafted in most leagues (WR99) but if you still want to secure him you can get him with a last round pick and see if he sticks.
