Jorge Soler Hits His Seventh Home Run
4 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Jorge Soler was the lone offensive spark for the team in Monday's 9-3 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. He went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in the game, his seventh of the year. The rest of the Royals combined for just two hits. Cardinals ace Jack Flaherty shut the Royals down over five scoreless innings before Alex Reyes came in and allowed the home run to Soler. On the year, Soler is slashing .260/.345/.510 with 19 RBI and 13 runs. His career-high 34.2% strikeout rate is certainly alarming, but he's also posting a career-high barrel rate of 19.7%, suggesting we at least have nothing to worry about in the power department.
