DeShon Elliott To Become Starter In Secondary
4 years agoBaltimore Ravens third-year pro defensive back DeShon Elliott will take over as a starting free safety after the release of Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas last Sunday. Elliott was a sixth-round pick by the Ravens in 2018. The 23-year-old from Texas played in only six games (no starts) and had six solo tackles and one pass defensed in his work in his rookie season. The secondary is the strength of this team's very talented defense, but the risk in cutting Thomas could mean a potential flaw in the back end. Still, the Ravens Defense should be drafted as a top-five defensive unit in fantasy leagues that employ team defenses.
