Michael Brantley Activated Off IL As Josh James Lands On List
4 years agoHouston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Michael Brantley was activated off of the injured list prior to Saturday’s contest against San Diego and right-hander Zach Davies, although he was not a part of the starting lineup. To clear room on the active roster, the club placed right-hander Josh James on the IL due to discomfort in his left hip, an ailment that forced him from his most recent appearance. With Yordan Alvarez (knee) out for the season, Brantley figures to see all of the playing time that he can handle moving forward, having opened 2020 with a .286/.375/.446 slash line through his first 16 games. As soon as Brantley reclaims his spot in the starting nine, he should be rostered in nearly all season-long formats. As for James, his move to the bullpen already had zapped most of his fantasy intrigue.
