Khris Davis In Offensive Malaise To Open 2020
4 years agoOakland Athletics designated hitter Khris Davis slowed significantly in the second half last season and that lack of production has carried over into the start of 2020. Davis has delivered a .146/.268/.229 slash line through his first 15 games, a far cry from having led the Majors in home runs (48) two seasons ago. His metrics back that things have fallen as far as they seem -- his barrel percentage has been nearly halved since 2018, while his average exit velocity is a paltry 85.1 MPH, which ranks in the bottom ten percentile of all batters. There exists the possibility that Davis could heat up at anytime, but until then, owners can look elsewhere for production, especially with the nature of the shortened season.
