Erik Swanson Hits 10-Day IL With Forearm Strain
4 years agoSeattle Mariners right-handed pitcher Erik Swanson has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a forearm strain. He has struggled mightily thus far in 2020, yielding seven hits and nine runs -- including three home runs -- across his 5 ⅓ frames, having blown one save and collected two losses. Swanson has added significant velocity to his fastball this year -- an average of 95.7 MPH as opposed to 92.9 -- but the pitch has been tagged to a .733 SLG. The Seattle bullpen remains a tricky proposition to navigate for season-long owners, making other clubs and their defined roles more appealing options.
