Triston McKenzie Will Make MLB Debut On Saturday
4 years agoCleveland Indians pitching prospect Triston McKenzie is slated to make his major league debut on Saturday against the Detroit Tigers. The 23-year-old McKenzie hasn't pitched in a competitive game since June 2018 as he has spent the past two years dealing with forearm and shoulder injuries. However, he's been on the road to recovery and the team clearly believes he's ready for major league action. He made 16 starts at Double-A in 2018 and went 7-4 with a 2.68 ERA, 1.004 WHIP and 8.6 K/9. He's definitely someone worth watching for in all deep leagues and AL-only leagues. While Detroit is certainly an alluring first matchup, fantasy owners should hold off on adding him for now at least. He'll likely be on a strict pitch count to start things off.
