Yusei Kikuchi’s Neck Still An Issue, On Track To Start Thursday
4 years agoSeattle Mariners left-handed pitcher Yusei Kikuchi is still battling the neck ailment that forced him to miss his previous start, which makes it all the more likely that he won’t be available until his next scheduled start, Thursday against the Dodgers. Kikuchi has amassed a 5.28 ERA across his first three starts in 2020, but the results have been misleading -- his 2.22 FIP and 2.75 xERA indicates that he has run into poor luck. Even with that in mind, his matchup Thursday against a slugging Los Angeles club makes him a difficult DFS choice, even if he was completely healthy. Owners in deep season-long formats can take a roll of the dice on Kikuchi having found his form and getting back on the mound next week.
