Robinson Cano Homers In Mets Loss To Phillies
4 years agoNew York Mets second baseman Robinson Cano, who rejoined the team’s starting lineup as the designated hitter on Friday, went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two RBI. Cano, sidelined since August 3 due to a groin injury, had been off to a hot start before his injury. Cano wasted no time picking up right where he left off. Cano is now hitting .410 with two HR and nine RBI in 39 at-bats on the season. Despite somewhat of a log jam in the Mets' infield with J.D. Davis, Andres Gimenez, and Luis Guillorme all hitting well, the veteran Cano will likely remain a staple in the lineup. This is particularly true while Cano remains hot at the plate. Whether he is played at second base or as DH, Cano has season-long fantasy relevance hitting in the middle of the Mets order.
