Robinson Chirinos Lands On Injured List Due To Ankle Ailment
Robinson Chirinos has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to ankle soreness. The club has recalled Jose Trevino from its alternate site to take his spot on the roster and provide Jeff Mathis with a backup. Chirinos has scuffled at the dish to begin 2020, hitting .129 with just one extra-base hit across his first 11 contests. Mathis now figures to see the lion’s share of playing time behind the plate, but with a career .554 OPS, season-long owners can look elsewhere to fill their catcher’s slot.

Robinson Chirinos Clears Concussion Protocol
Robinson Chirinos (head) passed the league's concussion protocol and will avoid a stint on the injured list after taking a pitch off the left side of his face/shoulder on Wednesday. Manager Brandon Hyde said that Chirinos should be back in the lineup this weekend against the Los Angeles Angels. "That was a good phone call to get that he's OK," Hyde said. With Chirinos out of the lineup on Thursday, Anthony Bemboom is doing the catching and hitting eighth against Oakland Athletics right-hander Paul Blackburn. The 37-year-old Chirinos has just four singles and no RBI in his first 22 at-bats over 10 games played. He's just keeping the seat warm for catching prospect Adley Rutschman.

Robinson Chirinos Heading To Baltimore On One-Year Deal
Robinson Chirinos to a one-year contract, according to Marly Rivera of ESPN. Chirinos is nothing more than a stopgap option for the O's, as top-prospect Adley Rutschman should spend the bulk of the season as the starting catcher in Baltimore. The 37-year-old Chirinos slashed .221/324/.454 with five homers across 45 games for the Cubs last season and is an afterthought in even the deepest fantasy leagues.
