BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 22% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The Miami Marlins continue to surprise the baseball world by leading the NL East and one of the biggest contributors to their early success is first baseman, Jesus Aguilar. Through 13 games, Aguilar has four homers, 15 RBI and seven runs to go with a .306/.339/.592 slash line. Aguilar has hit in the lineup 2nd, 3rd or 4th every game so is in the prime spots for counting stats and the Marlins continue to put up runs, averaging 5.23 runs a game.
Aguilar does have an exceptional season under his belt just two years ago when he hit 35 homers in 149 games for the Brewers in 2018. Last season's disappointing campaign meant expectations were low for Aguilar to be a viable fantasy option in 2020. Aguilar has made changes to his batting stance and swing this year, which appears to be paying dividends so far. If these mechanical adjustments are responsible for his refound success at the plate, there is no reason to believe his numbers will drop away. His batted ball profile and Statcast numbers also back up the legitimately of his early-season success making Aguilar a worthwhile addition to rosters in 12+ team league.
