Right-handed pitcher Henderson Alvarez has signed a deal to join Pittsburgh, who has seen many notable members of their staff already hit the injured list in 2020. Alvarez is best known for the no-hitter that he tossed on the final day of the 2013 regular season, before becoming the Marlins’ Opening Day starter in ‘14. But since then, injuries have sidetracked his career, with his last appearance having been in ‘17 with Philadelphia. Still just 30 years old, it appears Alvarez will have a chance to see the mound for the Bucs as they attempt to compile arms to fill out their staff. He can remain on the waiver wire until owners get an idea of when he may join the team, but he holds some two-start intrigue in weekly formats should he be tabbed for the rotation.--Jesse BorekRead More News
