Sixto Sanchez Slowly Ramping Up Workload
4 years agoMiami Marlins right-handed pitcher Sixto Sanchez is currently built up to about a three-inning workload, but the club will not consider calling up its top prospect until he can pitch around five innings. Sanchez has made just 18 starts at Double-A, although he has twirled a 2.53 ERA in that span. The centerpiece of the JT Realmuto deal, Sanchez figures to be a key cog in the Marlins’ rotation for years to come, but having just turned 22 years old, Miami will be ultra-cautious. He has likely already been plucked off the waiver wire in most keepers formats, but if available, the fact Miami would even be considering a call-up in 2020 should be reason to scoop him up.
