Taylor Rogers Earns Win On Monday Night
4 years agoMinnesota Twins closer Taylor Rogers pitched the ninth inning in a non-save situation on Monday night against the Pirates. Rogers gave up one hit in a scoreless ninth and got the win thanks to Nelson Cruz' game-winning single. The 29-year-old now has a 0.00 ERA through four innings in 2020, with four strikeouts, one hit allowed and no walks. He has looked excellent, despite manager Rocco Baldelli going to Sergio Romo twice in save situations. This is less about Romo and more about getting rest for Rogers in a shortened season. It's a smart baseball move but could be frustrating at times for Rogers' fantasy owners. Still, they can feel confident any time he's out there in a save situation going forward.
