Leury Garcia Stays Hot
Leury Garcia stayed hot on Monday by going 3-for-5 with a run scored against the Brewers. Garcia has been on fire with seven singles in his last nine at-bats. With Tim Anderson (groin) on the injured list, Garcia will remain in the lineup at shortstop. Garcia will look to keep it going in a tough matchup versus Brandon Woodruff Tuesday.

Leury Garcia Unlikely To Make Opening Day Roster
Leury Garcia is not expected to make the Opening Day roster. The 31-year-old has struggled, hitting .222 with a homer, two RBI, and two stolen bases this spring. It sounds like Hanser Alberto has beaten out Garcia for a reserve infielder spot on the roster. It's uncertain what is going to happen to Garcia considering he has two years and $11 million remaining on his contract. Possibly, Garcia is traded or sent to the minors until he's needed on the big league roster. That being said, it's hard to imagine Garcia having fantasy value to begin the season.

Leury Garcia Being Viewed As Backup
Leury Garcia is being viewed as a backup heading into spring training this year. The White Sox and new manager Pedro Grifol are expected to use more of Romy Gonzalez and Lenyn Sosa at the keystone in 2023. The good news for Garcia is that he can also play some corner outfield, although playing time could be an issue there as well with Andrew Benintendi now on the team. The 31-year-old Dominican hit a disappointing .210/.233/.267 with a .500 OPS, three home runs, 20 RBI and 38 runs scored in 315 plate appearances and 97 games in his 10th year with the club. Fantasy managers in mixed leagues can probably avoid him unless an injury to another player opens up regular playing time for Garcia.

Leury Garcia Takes Batting Practice On Monday
Leury Garcia (oblique) went through batting practice prior to Monday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. James Fegan of The Athletic reports that Garcia was likely fully available for Monday's game. Though Garcia didn't wind up appearing in Monday's contest, it sounds as if he'll be back in action any day now. The 31-year-old has now been held out for three straight games due to side discomfort. While he offers great versatility in the field, he hasn't provided much value offensively this year as he's slashed just .194/,205/.263 over 47 games.

Leury Garcia Sitting Wednesday
Leury Garcia is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Detroit Tigers. Garcia will get a regular day of rest in the matinee game. The 31-year-old is hitting just .201/.213/.273 on the season with two home runs, 12 RBI, 18 runs scored and a stolen base in 154 at-bats, but he's been better in the month of June, going 9-for-38 (.237) with two three-hit games since June 11. Josh Harrison is starting at the keystone on Wednesday and will hit seventh against Tigers right-hander Alex Faedo. Harrison is still searching for his first home run of the year and is batting an ugly .181/.256/.284 with five RBI and 18 runs scored in 116 at-bats.
