Aroldis Chapman Cleared To Make Return From COVID-19
4 years agoNew York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman has not yet pitched during the 2020 season after testing positive for COVID-19 and being placed on the injured list on July 11. With the electric closer out of the mix, New York turned closing duties over to left-hander Zach Britton, who amassed two saves but likely will now cede way to Chapman. An elite commodity for season-long owners, Chapman’s year-to-year dominance has been well-documented, ranking in the top percentile last season in both fastball velocity (98 mph) and xSLG (.282). As soon as the Yankees confirm that they have activated him, he can safely be deployed in all formats.
