Sean Doolittle Working On "Mechanical Tweaks"
4 years agoWashington Nationals manager Davey Martinez gave some insight into the team's decision to have Daniel Hudson close out Thursday's 6-4 win over the Blue Jays. He stated he wanted to stay away from the left-hander since he's working on some "mechanical tweaks." Doolittle has appeared in two games this season, allowing one run on two hits while striking out one, but has seen his fastball's velocity fall three ticks from last season. With Doolittle blowing six saves a year ago, Hudson could take over the closing role in 2020 since he closed out eight games in 2019, plus recorded the final out in the World Series.
