Diamondbacks Calling Up Prospect Daulton Varsho
4 years agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks are calling up their catching prospect Daulton Varsho according to a report. The 24-year-old spent the 2019 season at Double-A, slashing .301/.378/.520 with 18 homers and 21 stolen bases in 108 games. While those numbers are impressive for a backstop, the question is how he'll find some playing time with Carson Kelly and Stephen Vogt on the roster. The team has yet to make the report official, so there hasn't been a corresponding move, but we should find out sometime before Thursday's game against the Dodgers. As the third-ranked prospect in the D'backs system, Varsho carries dynasty value, but isn't worth considering yet in redraft leagues.
