Juan Soto Cleared By MLB, Waiting For Clearance From D.C.
4 years agoWashington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto (COVID-19) has passed back-to-back COVID tests, making him eligible to return to the team pending approval from health officials in D.C. Soto has been frustrated with the testing process since testing positive before Opening Day's matchup versus the Yankees, and is hoping to receive clearance on August 1. He's reportedly tested negative over a handful of times but hasn't had them back-to-back in a 24-hour period. The 21-year-old could play as early as next Tuesday versus the Mets if cleared in time, and would be a welcomed addition to a Nats lineup that has struggled out of the gate.
