Zach Britton Gets His First Save
4 years agoNew York Yankees closer Zach Britton picked up his first save of the season on Sunday with a scoreless inning against the Nationals. In typical Britton fashion, two of the three batted balls he allowed came on the ground, and only one had an exit velocity north of 87 mph. Britton is slated to continue closing games for the Yankees until Aroldis Chapman recovers from the coronavirus, but that should keep Britton in the closer role for the next few weeks at least. With a sparkling 1.83 ERA since transitioning to the bullpen full-time in 2014, Britton should be an elite fantasy closer for as long as Chapman remains sidelined.
