Michael Brantley Could Hit Cleanup Opening Day
4 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Michael Brantley is in line to hit cleanup Friday in manager Dusty Baker's offense. The veteran enjoyed a fantastic season in 2019 and mostly hit third, but Baker appears to be open to switching Brantley with Alex Bregman in the order. Brantley slashed .311/.372/.503 last season with 22 home runs, 40 doubles and 90 runs batted in. The 33-year-old may be getting up there in age but is as professional a hitter as there is in the game. Brantley hit .343 with runners in scoring position last season, and for that reason alone, he's an attractive mid-round selection in upcoming fantasy drafts.
