Nick Solak In Line For At-Bats In Left Field
4 years agoWith Texas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun (hip) expected to begin the season on the sidelines, manager Chris Woodward acknowledged that infielder Nick Solak "falls in line to take those at-bats." "His at-bats have been consistent in quality. I've been dying to find a way to get him regular at-bats. I'd lean towards that." Solak is going outside the top 300 players in fantasy drafts at the moment, but he has considerable sleeper appeal given his ability to hit for a useful average while supplying underrated power and position flexibility for his fantasy owners. He finished the 2019 season with five home runs and 17 RBI in his first 116 major league at-bats. The 25-year-old could turn some heads in mixed leagues if he gets enough plate appearances in his first full season in the bigs.
