Andrade was a wounded animal entering the fight having lost three consecutive fights this year. After nearly being finished in the closing moments of the first round, Andrade finished Dern off just past the halfway point of the second with a flurry of strikes that sent the BJJ specialist crashing to the canvas on four separate occasions. In 8:15 of action, Andrade landed 53 significant strikes, compared to Dern who landed 49. The referee stopped the fight after the fourth knockdown as Dern was completely out of sorts and had little defense to offer. Andrade improved to 25-12 as a professional and ends the year fighting five times in the UFC, going 2-3.

2 years agoJessica Andrade had a women's record for most fights in the UFC with 25 when she entered the Octagon against Tatiana Suarez on Saturday, but in doing so, she suffered her third straight defeat. It didn't take long for Suarez to assert her dominance, as she managed to out-strike and out-grapple Andrade throughout the fight. In the second round, she surprised Andrade with a guillotine choke and brought a tap at the 1:31 mark of the middle frame. This is the first three-fight losing streak of Andrade's 36-fight professional career. In 6:31 of action, Andrade landed 11 significant strikes while absorbing 23.
