Padres Looking For Left-Handed Relief Help
4 years agoThe San Diego Padres are looking for bullpen help as injuries accumulate in summer camp. With key left-handed reliever Jose Castillo (lat) out at least six weeks, the Friars are down to just two relief southpaws in Matt Strahm and Drew Pomeranz. Meanwhile, lefty pitching prospects MacKenzie Gore and Adrian Morejon are viewed more as starters. According to Fangraphs, the top left-handers available are free agents Tony Sipp, Xavier Cedeno and former Padre Clayton Richard. With righty reliever Trey Wingenter (elbow) also shut down, the team may search more broadly for bullpen help from both sides of the mound.
