Corey Knebel Feeling Good After Intrasquad Outing
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Corey Knebel (elbow) took a step forward in his return from Tommy John surgery on Friday when he threw an inning in an intrasquad game at Miller Park. "I'm happy with how I feel right now. Everything feels good, so that's a positive," Knebel said. The right-hander's velocity is still a work in progress, as he was in the 92-93 mph range with his fastball on Friday, about four or five clicks down from his pre-injury days. He threw 19 pitches with a walk and a strikeout. The Brewers and Knebel are confident he'll be ready for Opening Day, where he figures to work in a setup role ahead of closer Josh Hader. Knebel could be useful in leagues that count holds, but you can probably ignore him in standard fantasy leagues, especially since Milwaukee will be careful with his usage.
