Fernando Tatis Jr. Misses Workouts With Headache
4 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (headache) was held out of workouts for the second consecutive day Friday. The team claims the move is precautionary as Tatis has tested negative for COVID-19. The 21-year-old stud shined in his 2019 debut with a .969 OPS, 22 homers and 16 steals, but was shut down after just 84 games with a back injury. Padre fans and the fantasy community will hold their breaths alike, as Tatis was expected to be a five-category monster drafted in the top 20. In his absence, prospect infielders CJ Abrams and Gabriel Arias will get more reps at the six. Third baseman Manny Machado can also slide over to short while recently-acquired shortstop Jorge Mateo is also dealing with coronavirus.
