Trent Grisham Locking Up Center Field Duties
4 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Trent Grisham has shined in summer camp and is a near-lock to be the starting center fielder. After debuting in 2019, the 23-year-old joined the Friars via trade with starter Zach Davies in the offseason. Grisham comes with a power/speed pedigree and strong plate discipline. He registered a respectable .738 OPS in 183 big league plate appearances with 14 extra-base hits including six homers. With outfielder Tommy Pham (coronavirus) out indefinitely, Grisham should have a longer leash to get acclimated. Likely batting in the lower-third of the lineup, Grisham justifiably falls outside the top 300 in fantasy but has the potential to earn waiver bids if he plays well.
