Yoshitomo Tsutsugo Back In U.S.
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder/first baseman Yoshitomo Tsutsugo, who traveled back home to his native Japan during the MLB shutdown, has arrived back in the United States ahead of the July 1 reporting date for spring training 2.0, according to general manager Erik Neander. The 28-year-old left-handed hitter will bring some power and versatility to the Rays in his first year in the major leagues. Tsutsugo hit .285/.382/.528 in 10 seasons professionally in Japan and could see time in left field, first base and at designated hitter for the Rays in 2020. Target him as a power option late in deep mixed and AL-only leagues this year.
