Jackson Rutledge, Seth Romero Included In 60-Player Pool
4 years agoWashington Nationals 2019 first-round pick Jackson Rutledge and 2017 first-rounder Seth Romero were both included in the team's 60-man player pool for the 2020 season. Rutledge, a right-hander, started 10 games last year in the minors, going 2-0 with a 3.13 ERA. Romero, a left-hander, is healthy after missing all of last year. He's made 14 starts in his minor league career to this point. Neither Rutledge or Romero are likely to make their MLB debuts in the 60-game season, but they'll be able to pitch in scrimmages and develop their skills. Infielder Adrian Sanchez suffered a torn Achilles two weeks ago and was put on the injured list to start the year. Top prospects Carter Kieboom and Luis Garcia are also included on the roster, as expected.
