5 years agoDan Hooker (20-8) will look to earn his biggest win to date, a victory over former lightweight champion Dustin Poirier. Hooker has won three in a row and seven of his last eight. Riding in on a high note, Hooker is coming off of a hard-fought split-decision victory over Paul Felder in February. He will want to use every inch of that 75-inch reach to stay out of the boxing range of Poirier. With a three-inch reach advantage, Hooker needs to utilize advantages where they can be found. Half of Hooker's victories have come by knockout, so the power and precision are there to end Poirier's night early should he get careless at any point.--Matt Bricker

8 months agoDan Hooker (23-12) is set to fight for the first time in over a year as he takes on Mateusz Gamrot on the main card of UFC 305. Hooker has not fought since July of 2022 when he beat Jalin Turner by a split decision in a fight he broke his arm. Hooker enters this bout as a sizeable underdog as DraftKings has him at a salary of $6,900. In the UFC, Hooker is 13-8 and has won nine times by stoppage while he's been finished in four of his eight losses. If Hooker can pull off the upset, he could get a top-five opponent next time out.--Cole Shelton
