LPL's summer split is in full swing, and it has been quite an eventful one already. Today is the last day for two-game slates, as we will have five days of LCK joining the LPL tomorrow. Thes two-game slates have been difficult so far, but I remain determined to nail these slates for our readers.
This slate has two BIG favorites, and we're going to have to zoom way in to find an edge today. Not gonna let it get to my head because we're back into the action tonight with two exciting matches.
Today, I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LPL slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 5:00 AM on Tuesday, June 16th, 2020. Make sure you are following me on Twitter @Mr_Malmanger as I often post starting lineups when I see them and other useful info for the slate.
5:00 AM: LGD (-750) vs. DMO
On the surface, we have another big LPL favorite that can't lose, and we've all been down this road before. I'd love to say this one is different, and there's no way that DMO stun us all. They are one of the worst early game teams in the LPL, which is strange with a top/jungle focused team. LGD is susceptible to errors around barons, and with Peanut going with a carry focused build, their vision struggles. If DMO were to win, they need to step up their early game to try to keep the game close in case LGD try to throw.
More realistically, we need to bear down on which parts of these teams we want to get into our stacks. I'm targetting this side as the more fantasy-friendly matchup of the two today. I'm not saying its likely, but its more likely this series goes three games than the other. I like full stacks from this series because even if it does go to a third game, DMO's path to victory likely allows LGD to outscore the GNP bonus in any case. Looking at Mark's season-long stats, he seems meh at best, but in the small sample size of being paired with Kramer, he has an 80% KP. LangX to appears to have regained his form from the XiaoAL glory days on SNG.
Top LGD Plays:
- Kramer - ADC
- Mark - SUP
- Peanut - JNG
- LangX - TOP

7:00 AM: TES (-1800) vs. OMG
Unlike the first series, I can't find any reason to delve into the unlikely possibility of OMG getting their first win of the season vs. this TES squad. With the new dual-threat (triple threat even as we've seen 369 pop off also recently) composition of this lineup, we've seen Karsa refinding the form that caused many to call him the best jungler in the world in the past. Playing with a top 5 player in both mid and bot opens up the jungle for the former flash wolf. He suddenly has options for his pathing and ganks that weren't there at the start of spring, and a renewed confidence that Jackey or Knight are always ready to take over any fight that breaks out. 369 has also been outstanding, and he's now at 10-1 on his Aatrox for the season. His play level has allowed TES some free draft capital in being able to surrender Ornn in draft and still pick up wins, something many teams cannot do so easily (ahem IG).
OMG doesn't pose much of a threat to TES; my concern is that we could see TES blow out OMG while not scoring well. Top is one of the best early game teams in the league, while OMG is not. They did show some new looks versus EDG last time out that could indicate some signs of life, but for the most part, they are too passive for this league.
Top TES Plays
- Knight - MID
- Jackeylove - ADC
- YuYanjia - SUP
- TES Team
Summary
- The first game set should be the most attractive option for fantasy plays. I like my full stack to come from that series while targeting small stacks and team slots from the other. I've talked about reversing stacks, which can make a great GPP way to still have a chalky combo with a twist. Or taking your captain from your short stack can get you reduced ownership and a more unique lineup.
- FD pricing is well done again for Tuesday's slate with no errors that create imbalances like we've seen in the past. We'll be watching them closely as the slates expand to four games tomorrow.
- Not a great slate to close out the LPL dominance on overnight slates, and tomorrow will be interesting. How will FD and DK handle the four-game contests from a pricing and contest standpoint? I know I'll be playing regardless, but hopefully, they keep these bigger contests going to continue to drive interest among casual fans. See you out there on the fantasy rift, and until then may all your ADCs draft Aphelios!
