Robert Griffin III Wants To Be A Starter
5 years agoBaltimore Ravens quarterback Robert Griffin III, the backup to reigning 2019 MVP Lamar Jackson, still hopes to be a starting QB in the NFL again. Griffin appeared in seven games last year, the most he's played in a single season since 2014, but most of the action he saw was late in games in which the Ravens were substantially ahead of their opponents. "I'm 30 years old. Quarterbacks are playing into their 40s now. There's a lot of time left to still go achieve all the dreams and goals I set for myself," Griffin said. The former No. 2 overall pick earned Rookie of the Year honors in 2012, but he's never started a full 16-game season. He hasn't been a full-time starter since 2016 and hasn't regained his rookie form due to injuries. Griffin is headed into the final year of his contract with Baltimore, so there's a chance he lands elsewhere with a shot at a starting gig. Unless Jackson is injured, RG3 won't have any fantasy significance.
