Erik Jones Set To Bounce Back At Bristol
5 years agoJoe Gibbs Racing's Erik Jones suffered a pit-road penalty late in Thursday's Cup race at Charlotte and stumbled home to a 26th-place finish. Jones is currently 13th in Cup points and is looking to rebound as he starts from the 15th spot in Sunday's Food City presents the Supermarket Heroes 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Jones made some waves as a rookie by leading over half (260 laps) of the 2017 Bristol night race before finishing second to Kyle Busch. While the final results don't show it, Jones has run as high as second place in all six Cup Series starts at BMS. Last August, Jones was leading with just over 100 laps to go before hammering the wall and ending his hopes for a victory. At his cost, Jones will be a very popular pick in DFS and could prove to be a top lineup value for Sunday's race.
