Aroldis Chapman Makes Spring Debut
5 years agoNew York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman made his spring debut on Friday, tossing a scoreless inning with a strikeout. Chapman had been scheduled to pitch on Wednesday but unexpectedly had his debut pushed back with little explanation from the Yankees. Fortunately, the adjustment does not appear to have been related to Chapman’s health, as the closer looked good on Friday with his fastball hitting 99 mph. Even with his fastball velocity declining in each of the past two seasons, Chapman should once again be a premier closer in 2020 after collecting 37 saves last year, and fantasy owners should expect another dominant season out of the flame-throwing 32-year-old.
