Tristan Thompson Gets Back to Practice on Friday
Tristan Thompson (knee) was able to return to practice on Friday. He has missed each of the last three games due to a left knee contusion, but getting back to practice here is a great sign. Andre Drummond (calf) was able to practice on Friday as well, so hopefully both players will be ready for the weekend set. Larry Nance Jr. would see his minutes and usage reduced if Drummond and Thompson return on Saturday. Fantasy owners should check back for another update after shootaround on Saturday.

Tristan Thompson Signs With Cavaliers
Tristan Thompson is signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to Shams Charania. The big man spent his first nine seasons of his career as a member of the Cavs organization. Since then, Thompson has bounced around quite a bit. Most recently, Thompson appeared in six games during the Los Angeles Lakers playoff run. The 32-year-old should provide leadership and depth off the bench. Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley figure to see a majority of the playing time. Thompson will likely compete with Damian Jones for backup minutes off the bench. It probably won't be a large enough role to warrant rostering Thompson in fantasy leagues.

Tristan Thompson Expected To Sign With Bulls
Tristan Thompson has been waived by the organization. He was traded to Indiana at the deadline and didn't last long on the rebuilding Pacers. The Chicago Bulls are expected to sign Thompson once he clears waivers. This is a significant add to the Bulls roster. Nikola Vucevic has been playing nearly 40 minutes lately and needs reliable depth behind him. The Bulls do have Tony Bradley, but Thompson is expected to easily surpass him on the depth chart. Fantasy managers should monitor Thompson's status as he could be an interesting addition to fantasy rosters.

Tristan Thompson Ruled Out Wednesday
Tristan Thompson (quad) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Fellow big man Richaun Holmes will join him on the sideline as he continues to sit out due to COVID-19 protocols. Alex Len is expected to play extended minutes with Thompson and Holmes sidelined. He has two double-doubles in his last three outings. Len sounds like someone worth considering as a streaming option or possibly a low cost DFS option for Wednesday's slate.

Tristan Thompson Draws First Start Of Season
Tristan Thompson has been elevated to the starting five for Friday's contest against Memphis. Thompson will be making his first start with the Kings and should see a sizable workload with Richaun Holmes (eye), Alex Len (health and safety protocols), and Marvin Bagley III (health and safety protocols) all unavailable. The veteran big man logged his first double-double of the year on Dec. 8 despite playing just 21 minutes off the bench. He could be worth a short-term season-long flier in deeper season-long formats, as he appears to have carved out a decent role for the time being.
