White Sox Extend Yoan Moncada
Yoan Moncada has agreed to a five-year extension to remain with the club. The new deal could potentially buy out two years of free agency. Moncada, 24, was once the top prospect in baseball and is coming off of a breakout 2019 season. The White Sox strong offseason continues and they have now locked up outfielders Eloy Jimenez and Luis Robert in addition to Moncada to provide a strong core moving forward. Moncada is ranked number 41 by RotoBaller heading into drafts and his ability to help across the board gives him a high ceiling heading into 2020.

Yoan Moncada Makes Early Exit On Wednesday
Yoan Moncada (thumb) was forced to exit early during Wednesday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Well, Moncada returned to the lineup on Wednesday, but wasn't able to get through a full game before getting injured again. He previously missed time due to a left thumb issue, so it wouldn't be shocking to see him make a trip to the injured list. Luis Rengifo figures to basically play everyday third base, assuming Moncada does miss time from this injury. His absence would also give Kyren Paris more playing time over at second base. UPDATE: Moncada officially left with more right-thumb soreness, which is the same thing he dealt with in spring training and aggravated last Friday night.

Yoan Moncada Returns From Thumb Injury
Yoan Moncada (thumb) is back at third base and is hitting sixth on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Ryan Pepiot at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Moncada will return to the field after missing the team's last three games due to a thumb injury that he first injured near the end of spring training. The 29-year-old Cuban switch-hitter has opened the year as the Halos' primary third baseman, but he's going to need to pick it up on the offensive end to continue seeing regular at-bats. In his first seven games this year, Moncada has gone 4-for-20 with two doubles, four RBI, three runs scored, six walks and seven strikeouts in 26 plate appearances. He has never faced Pepiot in his career and won't be a recommended DFS lineup play in his first game back from a thumb injury.

Yoan Moncada Expected To Miss Sunday's Game, Could Return On Tuesday
Yoan Moncada (thumb) is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. According to Angels manager Ron Washington, Moncada isn't likely to return to the lineup until Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. The 29-year-old aggravated a thumb injury during Friday's game against the Guardians and was not in the lineup for Saturday's contest. He has been dealing with a thumb injury and missed the last two weeks of spring training. Moncada is considered day-to-day. The Angels are off Monday, and the extra rest day could set Moncada's return to the lineup on Tuesday. Luis Rengifo will shift from second base to the hot corner, and Kyren Paris will pick up a few starts at the keystone with Moncada sidelined.

Yoan Moncada Won't Play On Saturday
Yoan Moncada (thumb) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. Moncada will take a seat after aggravating his thumb injury during Friday's contest. Right now, Moncada will only miss one game, but it wouldn't be shocking to see him end up on the injured list. Luis Rengifo will cover third base, while Kyren Paris takes over at second base against right-hander Tanner Bibee on Saturday. It's unclear when Moncada will get back in the lineup, but he's really only an asset in AL-only formats right now.
